My name is Ciarra Morgan and I'm the owner of Empowered Beginnings. I am a wife and mother of two children: an eleven-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son. I have experienced both sides of birth. I had my daughter in a military hospital with an epidural and I had my son unmedicated in a birthing center with a midwife and doula. The level of preparedness was night and day which made all the difference. I took HypnoBirthing classes during my pregnancy with my son and credit the outcome of this birth to the Mongan Method. I was so empowered by the experience I had that I immediately began feeling lead to help other women achieve their perfect birth. My goal isn't to give you my birth experience, it is to prepare you for your unique birth so you can achieve what you are looking for. I have experience supporting birth at many different hospitals and birth centers in the Austin area. I have supported a wide range of situations including medicated and unmedicated birth, adoption, c-section, VBAC, elective induction, medically necessary induction, and many special circumstances (twins, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, IUGR, IVF, etc.).
Being your doula means I am connected with you from the moment we meet and you can contact me throughout your pregnancy. My intention is not to take over the role of your birth companion but to support both of you. I provide physical, emotional and informational support to the birthing person and birth companion. I would be honored to serve you and your family for your pregnancy and birth.
I was born and raised in Haifa, Israel and now live in Austin with my beloved husband, children, and Milkie, our Blue Heeler puppy. I am the mother to three vibrant children, two of which I gave birth to in my 40s. I’m 17 years into motherhood and love the continued challenges and learning this journey brings.
I fell in love with the birth world in 2017, after the birth of my second child. I had a doula by my side, felt fully supported, and had the outcome I desired. I love the challenge and beauty of birth and it is my passion to support others through their journey. When I'm not helping families, I fill my days with delicious and nutritious food, enjoying nature, practicing Yoga and meditation, walking, and art journaling. Being active is an important part of who I am. I also love exploring new places and new fields of learning.
My background as a Drama Therapist in Israel prepared me to work with families in need, both with children and adults struggling with mental health. This experience helped me become more patient, contained and a great listener.
I share many tools such as Reiki, Bach flower remedies, and healing recipes with my birth and postpartum families. I meet people where they are, hear their needs, and personalize services to support them so they can feel prepared and empowered. I would be honored to support you through your pregnancy and birth!
My name is Rachel and I’m a proud firefighter’s wife, mom to three beautiful girls, and lover of all things birth.
My birthkeeper journey began after bringing my youngest daughter earthside. I had been surrounded by people who affirmed and wholly supported me, and felt called to do the same for other women and their families as a birth doula.
Having experienced both hospital/medicated births and birth center/unmedicated birth, I’m confident that no matter where or how you choose to welcome your baby into the world, having a constant and empathetic companion by your side is invaluable.
I’m overwhelmed with gratefulness as I see the relationship and trust grow between me and my doula families. Pregnancy and childbirth is such a transformative and sacred season of life and I hold it close to my heart. My desire is to come alongside you as an encouraging, caring and knowledgeable presence throughout your journey, all while humbly recognizing the miracle that each unique birth and baby represents.
My name is Samantha, and I am a birth doula, GentleBirth trained childbirth instructor, wife, and mama to two! My journey to birth-work began after having my first child, when I desperately wanted to learn more about birth and learn how to be more in control of my experience. I dove into learning everything I could, started listening to podcasts, researching standards and practices for birth in other countries, and listening to birth stories from other women. Because of all of that, when I found myself pregnant with my daughter, I knew some of the things that I wanted to do differently. I hired a doula early in my pregnancy and it truly made all of the difference for me. She taught me how to ask questions, how to take control, and how to listen to myself. Through that experience, and the passion I felt learning about birth, I decided I wanted to pursue doula work as well, so that I could help other birthing people have the experience they desire.
My goal as your doula is create a relationship built on trust and compassion, and to support both you and your birth companion throughout the pregnancy and birth experience. I want you to feel empowered to make the choices that will help you to achieve the birth you dream of, whether that is an epidural the moment you walk in the hospital, or an unmedicated home birth with a midwife. I will provide physical, educational, and emotional support throughout your journey, from the moment we meet until you are tucked in your own bed at home after your delivery. I would be honored beyond measure to walk this path with you!
Hi, I’m Katie Mae. I became a doula because I am in awe of the childbearing experience. I have never witnessed anything more powerful, raw, and sacred than the moments of Life emerging Earthside.
My journey on the birth path began when I returned to the US from teaching abroad with a plan to pursue my teaching credentials and a master’s degree in education. Though I loved working with children, in the pit of my stomach, I knew I was meant to serve in other ways. In finding the courage to step away from that path, I was able to connect with what truly inspires me. That’s when birth work entered my heart. I became obsessed with the childbearing journey from preconception to postpartum. I studied the “re-cultivation of the village”, and became an advocate for birthing justice for all bodies, across all experiences.
I magnetized mentors, teachers and trainings into my life and became a student of birth. I committed myself to remembering the ancient art of bearing life and the primordial role of the birthkeeper.
Birth work is simply my calling. It’s literally what I wake up in the middle of the night to go do. I believe that when people feel empowered, enlivened, and deeply held as they pass through these portals, healing occurs- healing that expands past the birthing unit, into the community and across the entire world.
This is how we build a better world for our children, our children’s children, and their children. It begins at the origin of all things- and that it birth.
Time and time again I am humbled by birth. What a gift it is to support individuals and couples as they walk this path. What an honor it is to love, listen and nurture those navigating these transformational waters.
Kudos on you for seeking the support you so greatly deserve!
Many blessings on your journey!
My name is Meagan, and I'm a full spectrum doula with a passion for providing support and community for families throughout their journey to parenthood. I became a "birth nerd" in 2009 while preparing for the birth of my first son. Since then I've had three empowering and supportive home births (one surprise breech!), and I firmly believe all birthing people hold the power to birth in a way that is nurturing and self-affirming.
Despite my transformative birth experiences, I struggled through postpartum, and I decided that someday I would support other new parents through this potentially isolating time. In 2020, I left a career in engineering to follow my passion for birth and wellness. Now I love providing unbiased information and hands-on support so families can find what works for them.
I live in central Austin with my husband, three kids, two rescue dogs, one ancient cat, and six chickens. In my (rare) free time, I love to hike, take ballet class, read, and play the piano. My common thread is simplicity in all things - birth, parenthood, and wellness - and I can't wait to help you find your path.
