Empowered Beginnings offers personalized newborn, baby, and toddler sleep support in Austin, TX and virtually. Whether you're navigating night wakings, toddler bedtime struggles, or considering sleep training, we'll help you find an approach that feels right for your child and your family.
Many parents wouldn't describe their child as a "great sleeper," so if sleep has become a struggle in your house, you're definitely not alone.
And not every family wants to sleep train. That's okay, too. There's no judgment or shame here about how you choose to parent your child. Our job isn't to hand every family the same sleep training method. It's to understand what's happening with your child's sleep, learn what's important to your family, and help you find an approach you feel comfortable with.
Maybe you're wondering how to encourage healthy sleep habits with your newborn. Maybe your baby is waking frequently, naps are a struggle, or bedtime has become exhausting. Or maybe your toddler is three, and you're convinced they're simply a "bad sleeper." Not so fast! There's hope!
Sleep needs change as children grow, which is why our support does too. From newborn sleep shaping to personalized baby and toddler sleep plans, we'll meet your family where you are and work together toward more restful, sustainable sleep.

Ciarra Morgan is a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant through the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management, but she's also a mom who remembers just how overwhelming sleep could feel with her own children.
After becoming a birth doula and childbirth educator, Ciarra saw the same struggle again and again in the families she supported: exhausted parents trying to sort through conflicting sleep advice while figuring out what actually felt right for their child and their parenting style. Sleep consulting became a natural extension of the work she was already doing with growing families.
Today, Ciarra helps parents take the guesswork out of newborn, baby, and toddler sleep. Her approach isn't about forcing every family into the same method. It's about looking at the whole picture, including your child's age, temperament, sleep patterns, routines, feeding, your family's goals, and what you're actually comfortable implementing at home.
This support can also be especially helpful for growing families who want to work on an older child's sleep before welcoming a new baby.

You can get sleep support at different stages depending on your family's needs. For newborns from birth to 3 months, we focus on building healthy sleep foundations, understanding your baby's sleep rhythms and sleepy cues, soothing techniques, and helping your baby learn the difference between day and night.
For babies 3 months and older, we can provide a personalized sleep plan and support you through the sleep training process. We also work with toddlers and older children who are experiencing bedtime struggles, frequent night wakings, early rising, sleep regressions, or difficulty staying in bed.
Our newborn sleep support is designed for babies from birth through 3 months and focuses on healthy sleep foundations rather than a formal sleep training plan. We like to call it "sleep shaping".
Our personalized sleep training packages are available beginning at 3 months. Your child's age, current sleep patterns, temperament, and your family's goals are all considered when creating a personalized plan.
Newborn sleep support or sleep shaping is about helping parents understand normal newborn sleep and begin establishing healthy sleep habits from the start. We cover topics such as newborn sleep rhythms, sleepy cues, day and night differentiation, soothing techniques, and what to expect as your baby's sleep develops.
Sleep training, offered for babies 3 months and older, is more structured. We take an in-depth look at your child's current sleep, wake windows, energy expenditure, and feeding routine and create a personalized sleep plan with specific methods and instructions for your family to implement.
Cry it out has a different definition depending on who you ask. If you mean putting a baby in a room to cry for however long it takes them to fall asleep, without responding to them until morning, no. People don't need a certified pediatric sleep consultant for that. They can do that on their own without guidance if they feel that's what's right for their family.
We don't believe there is one sleep training method that is right for every child or every family. Our goal is to create a personalized sleep plan that takes your child's needs, temperament, current sleep habits, and your parenting preferences into consideration.
During your consultation, we'll discuss sleep training methods and help you understand your options so that you can choose an approach you feel comfortable implementing consistently.
Yes. Not every family wants or needs formal sleep training.
If you're struggling with your child's sleep but aren't ready for a full sleep training plan, we can still help you better understand what's happening and identify changes that may improve your family's sleep.
