I am a Postpartum Doula and the mother of two daughters. I have always loved children, especially babies! Birth and Postpartum have been a passion of mine since the moment I felt the empowering energy that giving birth and motherhood brings. I love helping families come into their own and find their way through the early sacred days of parenthood. I feel passionate about bringing awareness to postpartum mood disorders and helping new moms and their loved ones navigate those rough waters. I would love to help you in building your support system for motherhood.
My name is Sonet and I have been serving as a postpartum doula for 2 years now. I am a proud Mother of 2 and Grandmother of 5 and enjoy living in the country with my family. My experience in the birth and postpartum world started many years ago when I was a practicing midwife in rural South Africa and has continued through assisting in OB/GYN practice, working as a birth assistant in a birth center setting, and now as a postpartum doula to uplift to families. I enjoy helping families through the transition of welcoming a new baby into their household because I know how important this season is. This sort of care was something I lacked when I had my second child, so I am glad to be able to provide compassionate care for those who need it.
As a Nanny and Postpartum Doula I am able to provide care, nurture and support families with children of all ages.
I have solely been providing care to families since 2012, and became a certified Postpartum Doula in the summer of 2019.
I love being able to make a difference for new parents during the first weeks of life with their new babies, supporting them during this very special time.
During the day I have a part time position caring for two precious little boys. This allows me to also focus part time on providing care at night to new families.
I am Mom to three wonderful grown children and Mimi to 8 very special grandchildren.
My husband and I love to travel, something we would love to get back to doing soon.
As a mother and former nanny with over a decade of experience with newborns and babies (and toddlers too!), I have experienced first-hand the magnificent beauty and also the challenges that come with being a mother, especially during the early weeks of an infant’s life. Having worked with toddlers for many years, I am also well-versed in their care and development and in the intricacies of a new sibling arriving home.
After having my daughter in 2020, experiencing the magical and sacred postpartum period in all of its joys and rough tides, I felt drawn to caring for mothers and babies after birth. I know first-hand that mothers and families need support, and mothers deserve to be nurtured, encouraged, and empowered during these early weeks.
I use holistic-based healing that supports body, mind and spirit and take an intuitive, empathetic and empowered approach to supporting and educating mothers and their families as they navigate the postpartum period. I will prepare a holistic essentials kit for postpartum mothers that includes items like padsicles, perineal spray, natural nipple cream and pads, herbal sitz baths, and more. I also offer herbal baths and teas, essential oil rollers, mood boosting essentials, milk boosting herbs, Ayurvedic food recipes and preparation, meditations, Yoni steams and holistic cures to common ailments for the whole family!
My goal is to create a sacred place of healing that honors and cultivates the inner wisdom that all women posses, while supporting mothers in caring for themselves and their infants in a way that feels true and authentic to them. I look forward to empowering you through your journey as a new mother!
***Nikki is currently on maternity leave***
My name is Nikki and I am a Postpartum Doula. I am a self-professed foodie, adventure seeker, avid (and very amateur) lover of Pilates, and perpetual dreamer. I am a devoted wife and a mother to four children— ages six years, four years, three years, and four months. While motherhood has proven to be the most magnificent journey so far, it has also taught me that mothers (and their entire family) need more support in the days, weeks, and months after bringing life into this world. I believe that mothers need to be nurtured, encouraged, and empowered during the postpartum period. Every mother deserves the opportunity to see the amazing things she is capable of and I believe that comes with some loving support. I have a special interest in bringing awareness to postpartum mood disorders, various breastfeeding issues, and postpartum nutrition (I was a chef before I had children!). It would be my honor to serve families during their postpartum journey.
